LANCER: Squad Kits

It’s always the infantry.

In the days of antiquity war was waged solely on foot. Even with the taming of the ancient horses of Cradle, scores of warriors continued their march in orderly rows. They took the many hills and forts; they manned the walls and cannons. At sea, marines fought for their ships as though they were their homes, and from screaming turbojets the airborne made daring deployments. Even in an age where guns in composite clad crash forward at seventy-two kilometers an hour, the infantry continued to find purpose.

And the mech. The grander sibling, the footsoldier-at-large, a curious mirror. Steel angels take to the field yet the infantry remain. It may seem unfair to expect them to rival such machines, but they do: They have to. A mech cannot enter a building, or a frigate's CIC. 

A casualty is ensured either way - that is the nature of our wars. We equip them well for the tasks we assign in the hope they will not be it. After all, you will always need boots on the ground; it is the infantry that will be the first to arrive and the last to leave any battleground.

Squad Kits is collection of additional optional traits, systems and weapons for the Squad NPC from Lancer, spread across 22 kits, each containing 3 for a total of 66 optionals.  Outflank enemies with Cavalry,  deploy heavy field guns with Towed Ordnance, harass and manoeuvre with Guerrilla,  clear ahead of your mechs with Pathfinders … or create your own! Each optional is designed to function independently, so feel free to experiment and a create a Squad that is fitting for your own encounters.
